No inquiry into Visa Capping Bill 2010 Update – 26/07/2010 PDF Print E-mail

visaDue to the prorogation of the 42nd Parliament and the dissolution of the House of Representatives on 19 July 2010 due to the calling of the 2010 Federal Election, the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee has determined not to continue its inquiry into the Migration Amendment (Visa Capping) Bill 2010. This decision is consistent with the approach to inquiries during elections adopted by other Senate committees. If the Bill is reintroduced in the new parliament, the Senate can again refer it to the Committee for inquiry.
